“Multicultural Workplace” Job Fair
Fourteen senior secondary non-Chinese speaking students participated in the “Multicultural Workplace” Job Fair, jointly organised by the Labour Department and the Ethnic Minorities Committee of the DAB. Through this event, students gained a deeper understanding of employment opportunities available to ethnic minorities and learned more about the employment support services provided by the Labour Department. The experience also helped them better prepare for their future studies and career planning.
The job fair brought together around 50 organisations from various sectors, offering participants a wide range of career information and employment opportunities. Representatives from Hong Kong’s five disciplined services, namely the Correctional Services Department, Customs and Excise Department, Fire Services Department, Hong Kong Police Force, and Immigration Department, were also present to introduce their work, recruitment requirements, and career prospects. This enabled students to gain valuable insights into career pathways within the disciplined services.
In addition, the event showcased a range of support services designed to assist ethnic minorities in seeking employment and adapting to the local labour market. Through interacting with employers and industry representatives, students broadened their horizons, strengthened their career awareness, and explored diverse pathways for future development.
